Weddings and engagement parties
Shared-platter mezze service that scales past 100 without strain.
Metro Vancouver, eastern edge
About 40 minutes west of our kitchen
Yes. We cater Middle Eastern and Armenian weddings and events across Surrey, about 40 minutes west of our Abbotsford kitchen. Cloverdale and the eastern side are the easiest run, and we also serve Guildford, Fleetwood, Newton and South Surrey. Shared mezze platters scale past 100 guests comfortably.
A mezze table plus charcoal grilled mains, delivered set up and ready to serve, or collected from our Abbotsford kitchen. Banquet rooms, community and religious halls, and large family homes. Guest lists here run bigger than anywhere else we serve.
Most people who find this page are planning a wedding, so we will start there. A Middle Eastern wedding spread is built around shared platters rather than plated service: mezze across the table, charcoal grilled kabab and shish tawook in the middle, rice, bread and salads that keep coming. It scales past a hundred guests by adding trays, not by re-planning the meal, and it does not carry the staffing overhead that plated courses do. For a room where the guest list is still moving three weeks out, that is the practical difference.
Surrey is also where our range starts to stretch, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend the drive does not exist. West on Highway 1, off at 176th Street, and Cloverdale is a comfortable run at about forty minutes. Push out to Newton or South Surrey and it becomes a longer trip, which is worth factoring into your timing rather than discovering on the day.
What makes Surrey worth the drive is that it knows this food. It is one of the most diverse cities in the country, with a population that grew up on mezze, grilled meat and bread at the centre of the table. We do not have to explain what muhammara is or why the dips matter. People arrive already knowing whether it is any good, which is a fair standard to be held to.
Not on the list is not the same as not possible. Tell us the address when you call and we will be straight about it. The full picture of how we work is on our catering page.
About 40 minutes to eastern Surrey and Cloverdale, longer to Newton and South Surrey. Larger orders are more practical than very small ones at this distance, and we will talk that through honestly when you call.
| Detail | For Surrey |
|---|---|
| Drive from our Abbotsford kitchen | About 40 minutes to Cloverdale and eastern Surrey, approximately, and longer to the south and west. |
| Route we take | West on Highway 1, exiting at 176th Street for Cloverdale. Newton and South Surrey are further again. |
| Pickup instead of delivery | Rarely worth it. Eighty minutes of round trip driving on the day of your own event is a poor trade. |
| Notice that suits this city | A wedding wants several months, and a summer Saturday more. Guest count drives our schedule here far more than the drive does. |
| Event sizes this distance suits | Larger events. At this distance a big wedding or a full hall makes sense; a small drop off usually does not. |
| Where Surrey events usually happen | Banquet rooms, community and religious halls, and large family homes. Guest lists here run bigger than anywhere else we serve. |
What we cater here
Mostly these four. Anything built around a shared table works, because a mezze spread scales by adding trays rather than re-planning the menu.
Shared-platter mezze service that scales past 100 without strain.
Planned drop off lunches across the Guildford and Cloverdale business areas.
Generous mezze tables for a city that already eats this way.
Large-format trays, with halal and dietary questions answered directly.
We deliver it set up and ready to serve, or you collect it from our Abbotsford kitchen at no extra cost. Rarely worth it. Eighty minutes of round trip driving on the day of your own event is a poor trade.
Everything on our menu can be ordered as a catering spread: charcoal grilled kabab and shish tawook, toshka, kibbe, rice, tabouli and Armenian salad, warm bread, and dips by the half kilo. If you are still working out quantities, our guide to planning food for 20, 50 or 100 guests does the math with you.
Before you call
Yes, and it is the most common reason people call us from Surrey. A mezze and grilled main spread scales better than plated service because you add trays rather than re-plan the meal. For an event past 100 guests give us several months, more for a summer Saturday. The guest count drives our schedule more than the drive does.
All of it, with the honest caveat that Cloverdale and the eastern side are the most straightforward run from our Abbotsford kitchen at about 40 minutes. Guildford, Fleetwood, Newton, City Centre and South Surrey all work and simply take longer. Tell us the location when you call and we will be straight about the timing.
At this distance, larger orders are simply more practical than very small ones. Rather than publish a rigid minimum, we would rather you call and tell us the guest count and location. If it does not make sense we will say so honestly instead of taking the booking and doing a poor job of it.
We do not hold a halal certification and we will not claim one. What we will do is answer the question properly for your specific order: what the meat is, where it came from and how it was prepared. Ask us on the phone and you will get a direct answer rather than a vague reassurance.
It depends on your guest count, how much of the spread is grilled mains versus mezze, and whether you want drop off or more help on the day. We would rather talk it through on the phone than post a number that fits nobody. Call us with your headcount and occasion and we will walk you through it plainly.
These are the pieces that answer the questions Surrey customers ask most, written before you spend money rather than after.
