Our home city, Fraser Valley
This is where we cook
Yes. Abbotsford is our home city and our kitchen is here, so Middle Eastern and Armenian catering in Abbotsford has no travel time, no distance minimum, and free pickup if you want it. We cater weddings, office lunches, memorials, church halls and family gatherings anywhere in the city. Call us with your date and guest count.
A mezze table plus charcoal grilled mains, delivered set up and ready to serve, or collected from our Abbotsford kitchen. Church and community halls, school and sports facilities, offices along South Fraser Way, and a lot of backyards out toward the prairie.
Abbotsford has no shortage of caterers. It has very few that cook Armenian and Syrian food, and that is the honest reason to call us rather than the next name on the list. What arrives is a mezze table: hummus, baba ganoush and muhammara, tabouli and fattoush and Armenian salad, warm bread, charcoal grilled kabab and shish tawook, kibbe, toshka, rice. It is a different kind of meal from a sandwich platter or a pasta buffet, and for a lot of gatherings that difference is the whole point.
Because the kitchen is in Abbotsford, the food does not sit in a van before it reaches your table. Rice is still steaming, bread is still soft, and the grilled mains have not had time to dry out. Nowhere else we serve gets the food in that condition, which is worth saying plainly on the page for our own city.
It also makes us flexible here in ways that are harder further west. A same-week call for an office lunch is often workable. A family arranging a reception after a funeral rarely has weeks of notice, and Abbotsford is the city where we can most often say yes to that. If you would rather collect the spread yourself, pickup costs nothing extra and takes the delivery window out of your planning entirely.
Not on the list is not the same as not possible. Tell us the address when you call and we will be straight about it. The full picture of how we work is on our catering page.
Zero, because the kitchen is here. Most of Abbotsford is inside about fifteen minutes of it, there is no distance minimum, and pickup is always free. For most Abbotsford events we can talk about shorter notice than we could anywhere further west.
| Detail | For Abbotsford |
|---|---|
| Drive from our Abbotsford kitchen | None. The kitchen is in Abbotsford, so most of the city is inside about fifteen minutes. |
| Route we take | No drive at all. Every tray on this page comes out of an Abbotsford oven. |
| Pickup instead of delivery | Yes, and it is the easiest option in the city. Free, and you choose your own timing. |
| Notice that suits this city | Two to four weeks is comfortable. Same-week is more often possible here than anywhere else we serve, so call before assuming it is too late. |
| Event sizes this distance suits | Any size. Ten people or two hundred, no distance minimum, because there is no distance. |
| Where Abbotsford events usually happen | Church and community halls, school and sports facilities, offices along South Fraser Way, and a lot of backyards out toward the prairie. |
What we cater here
Mostly these four. Anything built around a shared table works, because a mezze spread scales by adding trays rather than re-planning the menu.
Drop off spreads for teams of 10 to 60, set up and ready to serve.
Hall or backyard, buffet style, with the mezze doing a lot of the work.
Quiet, warm food for a hall or a family home, arranged quickly when needed.
Large-format trays that hold well across a long afternoon.
A mezze table plus grilled mains. Mezze means a spread of small dishes people share rather than a plated course, so the table fills up and guests graze across it for as long as the event runs.
This is the part worth understanding before you call, because it changes how you plan. You are not choosing a chicken option and a beef option for each guest. You are choosing how wide the table should be, and then how much grilled meat sits in the middle of it. That is why a headcount moving from sixty to eighty is a phone call rather than a redesign of the menu.
Most of Abbotsford is within about fifteen minutes of the kitchen, and the central neighbourhoods are closer to five. These are approximate, and they are the reason food arrives here in better shape than anywhere else we serve.
| Part of Abbotsford | Approximate drive |
|---|---|
| Clearbrook and central Abbotsford | About 5 minutes |
| Historic downtown and Gladys Avenue | About 8 minutes |
| McMillan, Sandy Hill and east Abbotsford | About 10 minutes |
| Aberdeen, Peardonville and the airport side | About 10 minutes |
| West Abbotsford and Mt. Lehman | About 12 to 15 minutes |
| Matsqui, Bradner and Sumas Prairie | About 15 to 20 minutes |
Yes, and in Abbotsford it is often the better choice. Pickup costs nothing extra, it removes the delivery window from your planning, and you decide exactly when the food leaves our kitchen.
It suits two situations in particular. The first is a hall or venue with its own access rules, where you would rather carry the trays in yourself on your own schedule than coordinate a caterer arriving at a set time. The second is a home gathering where the start time is soft and you would rather collect the food when the room is actually ready.
Bring a flat boot or a back seat you do not mind, and give yourself a few minutes to load properly. If you are driving further afterwards, our guide to moving catered food without wrecking it is worth two minutes before you set off.
Later than you probably think, and later here than anywhere else we serve. Same-week is often workable for an office lunch or a family gathering. It is never guaranteed, so the answer is to call rather than to assume.
Two things drive it. There is no travel to schedule, so a short-notice Abbotsford order only has to fit around the cooking rather than around a drive to Metro Vancouver and back. And receptions after a funeral almost never come with notice, which is exactly the situation where a nearby kitchen matters most. We would rather be told the same morning than not called at all.
The honest limit is capacity, not distance. If a Saturday is already committed we will say so straight away instead of stretching and doing two events badly.
We deliver it set up and ready to serve, or you collect it from our Abbotsford kitchen at no extra cost. Yes, and it is the easiest option in the city. Free, and you choose your own timing.
Everything on our menu can be ordered as a catering spread: charcoal grilled kabab and shish tawook, toshka, kibbe, rice, tabouli and Armenian salad, warm bread, and dips by the half kilo. If you are still working out quantities, our guide to planning food for 20, 50 or 100 guests does the math with you.
Before you call
Yes, anywhere in Abbotsford, and there is no distance minimum since this is our home city. We drop the spread off set up and ready to serve. If you would rather pick it up yourself, that works too and costs nothing extra.
Two to four weeks is comfortable for a party or gathering, and weddings deserve a few months. Because Abbotsford is our home city, short notice is more often workable here than anywhere else we serve, so call before you assume it is too late.
We do not hold a halal certification and we will not claim one. What we will do is answer the question properly for your specific order on the phone: what the meat is, where it came from and how it was prepared. Some families are satisfied by that and some are not, and both answers are reasonable.
Yes, and more gracefully than most menus manage. Much of a mezze spread is already vegetarian and several dishes are vegan: hummus, baba ganoush, muhammara, tabouli, fattoush, grilled vegetables, rice and bread. Those guests eat from the same table as everyone else rather than being handed a separate tray.
It depends on your guest count, how much of the spread is grilled mains versus mezze, and whether you want drop off or more help on the day. We would rather talk it through on the phone than post a number that fits nobody. Call us with your headcount and occasion and we will walk you through it plainly.
These are the pieces that answer the questions Abbotsford customers ask most, written before you spend money rather than after.
